In the name of God Amen. I Sarah Stapp of the Citty of Glouce. widdow somewhat weake in body but of a sound perfect and disposing memory (for which) ... most humble thanks unto Allmighty God seriously weighing with my selfe the fraile? estate of man in this life and that the house of death comes (as our Saviour saith) as a Thief in the night. i do therefore make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme ensueing. Alsoe I give unto the poore of the parish of Mary de Cript atto Crist aforesaid the summe of five pounds of lawfull money of England. Alsoe i give unto the Minister that shall preach att my funeral the summe of Twenty shillings. Also I give unto my sonne in law Mr. George Carter of the Citty of London, Vinter the summe of five pounds of lawfull money of England. Also I will and bequeath that as ... as may be after my decease the summe of five hundred pounds shall be putt out att interest upon good security or securities such as shall be approved of or else nominated and appointed by my daughter Elianor Cartor now wife of the said George Carter by writeing and or her hand to be taken in the names of my Executrix hereunder named or in the names of such other persosns as she shall appoint. And in the interest thereof shall be paid to my said daughter Elianor dureing the ... betwixt her and her said husband to her seperate use so as her said husband may in no wise intermeddle therewith. And if there shall be occasion att any time to change or alter any the Security or Securities for the said summe of five hundred pounds or any part thereof then and soe often as it shall happen such now Security or Securities to be taken for the said five hundred pounds or any part or parcell thereof as shall be putt out at interest ... shall be allowed or approved of or other wise nominated and appointed by my said daughter Elianor by writeing under her hand as aforesaid. And if my siad daughter Elianor shall happen to dye in the lifetime of her said husband then my Will and meaneing to that the said summe of five hundred pounds and all then future accrueing benefitt thereof as by my said Elianor by any writeing to that purpose under her hand and seale by her subscribed and sealed in the presence of two or more credible witnesses shall be diverted, limitted, and appointed but in case my said daughter Elianor shall happen to dye without any such divertion, limitation, and appointment as aforesaid then to the use and for the benefitt of such her Child or Children as she shall leave behind her. And in case she leave none then to the use and benefitt of Elianor Pritch? and my grandchilde. And if it shall happen that my said daughter Elianor Carter shall survive her said husband then my Will and meaning is that she shall hhave the said fie hundred pounds and all the benefitt and interest thereof to her owne use and att her owne disposall. And in case she shall happen to dye without takeing up or altering the Securities then the same or soe much thereof for which the security shall not be soe altered or taken up shall be and remaine to such persons and to such use and uses as by my said duaghter Elianor by any writeing to that purpose under her hand and seale by her Subscribed and sealed in the presence of two or more credible witnesses shall be diverted, limitted, and appointed. And in default of such divertion, limitation, and appointment as aforesaid then to the use and for the benefitt of such her child or children as she shall leave behind her. And in case she leave none then to the use and benefitt of the said Elianor Pritchards my grandchilde or her Executors or Administrators.
Also I will and my meaning is that my said daughter Elianor Carter and her said husband dureing the Coverture bewixt them shall have the ordinary use of One great Silver Cann, One great Siver Sall, One ... Ember doll?, One Silver bekaer, One silve Bowle, Six Silver spoones and one paire of Virginalls for as allwayes not withstanding the generall property thereof be and remaine and be taken and constituted to be and remaine in my said Executors dureing that time. And in case my said daughter shall happen to survive her siad husband then my Will and meaning is that she shall have all the said goodes interely att her owne disposall and the speciall and generall property thereof. But in case my said daughter shall happen to dye beofr eher said husband then all the said goods shall be and remaine to such person and persons and to such use and uses as by my said daughter Elianor by any writeing to that purpose and her hand and seale by her Subscribed and Sealed in the presence of two or more crdible witneses shall be diverted, limitted, and appointed. But in case my said daughter Elianor shall happen to dye without any such divertion, limitation, or appointment as aforesaid then to the use and for the benefitt of such Child or Chirldren as she shall leave behinde her. And in cae she leave none then to the use and benefitt of the siad Elianor Pritchards my Grandchild.
Also I give and bequeath unto my siad Grandchild Elianor Prichards and unto her heires All that my Messuage or Tenement which I bought and purchased by mee and my heires of one (blank space) Michelle? widdow lyeing and being in Acertaine Lane called or knowne by the name of the Boaneshead? Lane and which adjoyneth to the Messuage or Tenement commonly called or knowne by the name of the Boareshead lyeing in the said Lane called the Boareshead Lane and which I hold by leave from Corpus Cristi Colledge in Oxford and all my estate interest and ... of yeares thereine yet to come and unexpired. Alsoe I give and bequeath unto my said Granchild Elianor Pritchards and her heires all that my Little Messuage or Tennement and garden with the appurtenances situtate and being in the said Lane called by the boareshead land and wich I lately purchase to mee and my heires of Henry Brett of the said Citty of Glouce, Esq. Also I give and bequeath unto my said Grandchild Elianor Pritchards Two Silver Salts, One Silver trentcher? salt, Eight Silver WIne Bowles, Two silver beere bowles, One little or small Small Silver Cann. One dozen and halfe of one dozen of Silver Spoones and alsoe all the rest of my money, place, goodes, Cattels, Chattles, household stuffee and personall estate whatsoever in whose possession soever the same be (and not by this by my said Will disposed of) to be paid and defixened to her att the age of one and tweny years or day of Marriage which shall first happen Provided neverthelesse that she marry with the consent of her Aunt Carter and my Executors and overseer hereafter named. But if it shall happen that my siad Grandchild Elianor Pritchards shall dye before her said age of One and twenty yeares or day of marriage then to and for such person and persons and such use and uses as my said Grandchild Elianor by Will under her hand before two or more credible witnesses shall order, divert, or appoint and give the same unto.

premisses hereby give and bequeath unto her shall be for her
better maintenance and education. And I doe make and ordaine my
loveing friende Daniel Fowler of Kings... in the County of
Glouce, Clothier and William Layward of Stonehouse in the said
County, Clothier my Executors of this my last Will and testament
in Trust to and for the severall uses above expressed and not to
convert any part or parcell of the premisses of theire owne or
any other use whatsoever. And I give unto them the said Daniel
Fowler and William Layward for theire paines and trouble
thereine the summe of fifty shillings apiece as a token of my
ove unto them. Also I hereby desire and appoint my loveing
friend Samuell Brewster of the Citty of Glouce, Gentl. Overseer
of this my said last Will desireing him to be aideing and
assisting to my said Executors in and touching this my WIll and
doe give him as a token of my love for hise care and paines
forty shillings of lawfull money of England to buy him a Ring?
And my Will and meaneing is and soe I will and order that my
said Executors shall be paid out of my estate. All such money as
they shall in any respect disburse or be compelled to expand in
or about the execution of this my said Will. In witnesse whereof
i have hereunto sett my hand and seale containeing foure sheetes
of paper they Twenty fourth day of September in the One and
