In the name of God Amen. I James Steps belonging to her Majestie's Ship Suffolke beinge in bodliy health and of sound and disposing minde and memory And considereing the perills and dangers of the Seas and other .... of this transitory Life. doe for avoideing contirversies after my decease make, publish, and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say) First I recommend my Soul to God that gave it and my Body I committ to the Earth or Sea as it shall please God to order and as for and concerning all my worldly Estate I give, bequeath, and dispose thereof as followeth (that is to say) unto my honored Morther Carterhood? Stepes in the Countie of Cripplegate in the County of Middlesex all surfaced wages sums and sums of money, Lands, Temements, Goods, Chattells and Esate whatsoever as shall be anywaies due or belonging unto me at the time of my decease I doe give devise and bequeath the same unto the said Carterhood Stepes. And I doe hereby nominate and appointe the said Carterhood Stepes my Executris of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former and other wills, testaments, and deeds of Gift by me at any time heretofore made and I doe ordain and ratifie these presents to stand and before and as my only last Will and Testament. In witness whereof to this my said Will I have set my hand and seale the sixteenth day of February Ano Domini and the Third yeare of the Regine of her Majestie Queen Ann over England.
